I’m guessing this is for year 12 English. Advice number 1 READ THE OUTSIDERS by S.E.Hinton. It is all about having to conform to unwritten rules. So pretty much you have to look at how unwritten rules make people act in a certain way and why this is. In all senior essays you should have a thesis statement this could be something such as “In a world where we a governed by rules and regulations set down by the government and law enforces, it is not always the consequences of breaking these laws that we fear. But rather breaking the unwritten rules of our social groups, sporting teams and relationships because sometimes breaking these rules can have far worse consequences.”It is a rather long thesis but it is just an idea. I haven’t read any of those books so I can’t comment on them but pretty much you would just structure your essay around your statement by commenting on how this is shown in different books. Remember to always use quotes to back up what you are saying.I am happy to give you some notes on the outsiders but since you haven’t read it yet I would overload you with info.Good luck and IM me if you need more help.
